France Glaive without Scabbard
The Glaive is a short, double-edged sword about 50 cm long and is designed for close combat. The blade was made of high quality steel and has a pointed tip.
The handle of the gladius sword is made of polished brass with inlaid grooves to ensure a better grip. A pommel is attached to the lower end of the handle, which served as a counterweight and improved balance.
Due to its length and maneuverability, it is particularly well suited for punch and thrust combat. At just under 6mm, the blade is strong enough to pierce light armor.
The glaive was a symbol of power and success and was worn both in war and on representative occasions.
