Finnish Doctoral Sword (Tohtorinmiekka) with Finnish University Crest

Made in Germany

Doctoal sword with leather scabbard

For custom-engraved doctoral swords go to: https://www.wkc-shop.de/en/doctoral-sword-crest-engraved-on-shield

WKC Solingen exclusively manufactures doctor's swords based on the original design by Akseli Gallen-Kallela from Finland in 1918.
In Finland and other countries, it is a tradition to wear a sword and hat when graduating from university.

(Tohtorinmiekka)

The original tools from 1918 are still preserved today.

24k gold plating is used in the decorations of the sword and the German quality can be seen in every detail.

The doctor's sword symbolizes truth and is a weapon used in defense of truth, right and good. The sword is a civilian sword designed by Akseli Gallen-Kallela and officially endorsed by independent Finland.
A guard plate is attached to the sword, which can be engraved with a coat of arms.
The name and date are usually engraved on the blade.

The sword is carried on the left side with a leather pouch or belt holder.
